Description
Oh I don't have a girlfriend cause I'm picky

Who are you? Who am I looking for?

I like a quintessentially classis beauty. There is no formula to who I’m attracted to. Cute with short hair? Strikingly beautiful with long hair? I dated a girl with no hair! It doesn’t matter. Who I like is someone who looks great in a pair of jeans and a t shirt with no makeup and can make people notice when she enters a room. But, can also stun a room when she enters with a little black dress. Now, I don’t think that looks are all important. But, I do think I should anticipate that same woman every time I look at my door. My ideal woman is one who can look great but also she must be educated, independent, interesting, socially conscious and curious. There’s gotta be brains behind the looks, right? Be passionate about what you want to do and who want you want to be.

I'm looking for someone who is attractive but not pretentious or conceited. They should be educated to the point that they are informed and confident in their convictions. I love a goof, too, who can just as easily slip into moments of pure stupidity. Please, more of the former and not the latter. Somebody who is genuine, caring, and loyal and should have an appreciation for who they are and what they are doing with their life.

I’d like to meet someone who is grounded. No obnoxious, self-absorbed, reality TV lovers. Please, no drama! I’ve been around the block several times and have life experiences, good and bad, that most people have not. So, I don’t want to spend time developing a relationship with someone who’s only concerned with the trivial drama of who’s doing what. Who are you? Where are you going? And, how are you going to make an impact in your lifetime? You’ve gotta have all three in some perspective. I'm looking to meet someone who realizes she is not the center of the universe and that giving back is more inportant than getting.

So, who am I? I believe in being good to everyone. I’m not pretentious, conceited or arrogant. I am confident, driven and motivated, though. I’m starting to really get a sense of who I am and what path I want to take in life. I’m sitting at a crossroads in my life of who I want to be and where I want to go. I recently finished my Undergrad degree after committing to myself and going back to finish after several years while working full-time. It was difficult but I was willing to make the personal sacrifices. I finished with a degree in Environmental Policy Studies. It’s obviously not the norm but I am glad I chose it. It was the reason I went back to school since it was interesting and now that environmental issues are gaining more stamina so I’m hoping that’s the direction I can take my career.

I am professionally accomplished and have proven that I can do what I set my mind to. Right now, I’m not working now in a job I have a passion for but I do get to make decisions that I think benefit people and are fair and right. Maybe it’s my savior mentality but I think we all need to help everyone we can if we get the chance. For now, it does give me a sense of accomplishment and I have done well, so, it works. But, I do want a career where I can directly impact people’s lives. Not sure where that’s going yet, but, I will find out. Thinking it through for now. I’ll let you know what happens.

I try to live life to the fullest. I anticipate nothing more than a tip to anywhere. I’m intrigued by what I haven’t seen or where I haven’t been to. Every place has a history so it’s worth listening to. Everything is a new opportunity to learn and experience. I love being outdoors the most. Camping, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, and skiing is where you’ll find me most comfortable.

I’m open to anything, New restaurants, museum attractions or sports events. Big Sox and Bears fan so I hope you’re up for a game. Can’t beat sittin’ in the bleachers having a beer and dog. I’m lucky in that I live in a city that has such a vibrance and is so diverse so I want to check out everything. On the weekends, you’ll find me riding my bike on the lakefront. Great view, attractions in grant Park, people watching. Gotta love it. Local bands at a hole in the wall is great, too.

But, as much as I like the local, I want to see the world, too. So, you should have the same passion for exploration. Are you willing to stay at the no frills hostel because that’s the best way to see Europe? Whatever it takes and how we get there doesn’t really matter to me, as long as we see it. I’m anxious to travel and I’d like to meet someone who has the time, means and desire to take a trip, too.

If you haven’t gotten an idea of who I am, I’ll tell you. I grew up on the South Side of Chicago. I’m an odd mix of experiences and circumstances that make me unique to only me. Three sisters and one brother so the women ruled the roost and it made for an interesting childhood. I love them dearly and with one niece and nephew, I feel blessed. They’re cute but I’m not looking for children any time soon. Don’t worry! I’m a big enough kid myself. But, my mother always gives me that hint that the family should be bigger. Why don’t you have a girlfriend? Oh, cause I’m picky. I keep telling her I’m looking so are you willing to lie about how I know you?

I like quick whit and sarcasm is definitely appreciated! Dark, sarcastic and absurd humor would probably describe me best. 30 Rock, Flight of the Concords, Jon Stewart, Family Guy, It’s Always Sunny…, Will Farrell. If you get that humor, you get me. I do watch more TV than I should but it comes with working odd hours. But, I always try to watch some kind of mentally stimulating show. Information is power and I can’t get enough. Love the home remodeling stuff since I know how to do all that stuff. My father taught me how to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. I have to say, though, that I hate the drama reality shows but I do love watching the cooking shows: Top Chef, Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve gotten into the cooking thing out of necessity since being a bachelor and have started to really like it.

Movies? Alternative, Indie and Documentary. Some good people are saying great things. I love to hear someone else’s perspective on what they think or feel but, also tell a great story. I do have my guilty pleasure with action flicks, though. Music? I grew up on ‘80’s Alternative, Punk, Industrial, Techno, Rock and Blues. I’m willing to give anything a listen.

So, that’s it. You’ll have to ask to get the rest of the story. Thanks for reading and I’ll look forward to hearing from you. Be good!
