Anchorage professional, 55, 5-9, 165, dark brown/dark blue, fit, active looking for an intelligent, articulate lady who has her own career but would enjoy the company of a partner in crime. Anchorage is a city of 260,000 with all the amenities (yes, we have Nordstrom, the Gap, Starbucks and an indoor water park with fake palm trees) with mountains, water and whales close by. 140 miles of paved bike/blading paths. groomed and lighted in the winter for skiing. We have live theater, Broadway plays and a symphony. Alas, the comedy review that served SPAM is no longer but Spamalot is coming in April. Our winters are a whole lot more palatable than many northern-tier cities (plus we have auroras) and if you get a bit cold, just cuddle closer or join me on a jaunt out of town (Puerto Vallarta, Hawaii, San Francisco, Seattle). We don't have hurricanes, floods or tornadoes and the local forecast never lists the heat index. We have clean air, our water comes off a glacier and the summers are beyond glorious. All the things the tourists spends thousands of dollars on, we get to go enjoy every day. I love cycling (have completed the 450-mile RAGBRAI ride in Iowa with 10,000 fellow riders three times, the last time helping raise $100,000 for student scholarships at a Midwest college); movies, travel, hiking, kayaking, cooking, gardening, photography, air shows and I'm a huge fan of the Mariners, Washington State University and the Olympics. I volunteer at the local visitor center, and I'm active in my university's alumni organization. By all the above, you might think you could never pull me out of Alaska -- but I would certainly consider a move for the right lady.
